LIFETIME ASSESSMENT AND HEALTH CHECKS OF TRANSFORMERS
Life of transformers depends on the condition of the insulation system (Kraft paper and oil) with time under impact of:
- Thermal stresses
- Electromagnetic stresses.
- Electro-dynamic stresses.
- Contamination and natural ageing processes effecting the tensile strength of paper.
- Rate of deterioration depends upon operating conditions - loading pattern, incipient faults, and maintenance.

OIL FILTERATION AND FILLING
Federal Power Transformers provides oil filling and filtration of transformers onsite up to 400Kv Class using oil filtration machines suitable for the rating of transformers. Transformer oil is like a blood in human body. Oil in the Transformer provides Insulation, Cooling, Arc extinguishes, and Oil dissolved, gases generated by oil degradation, moisture and gases from cellulose insulation, deterioration.

OVERHAUL & REPAIR OF TRANSFORMERS
Federal Power Transformers perform overhaul and repair of transformers up to 100MVA 132kv class. Our range of services are as below:

PARTIAL DISCHARGE ANALYSIS
Today, the detection of partial discharge on transformers is a challenge to customers which needs technically-expert engineers and model testing equipment.
Federal Power Transformers provides online partial discharge analysis using TEV or the UHF method to customers providing early detection of partial discharges and failure of equipment.
REWINDING & REENGINEERING OF TRANSFORMERS

THERMOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS
Thermal scanning of transformers is an essential preventive maintenance tool to study and analyse any potential issues with the cooling system and detect hot spots on transformers before a catastrophic failure of equipment occurs. Abnormal heating associated with high resistance or excessive current flow is the main cause of several problems within electrical systems.
Infrared Thermography allows us to see these invisible thermal signatures that indicate impending damage before the damage occurs. Under-sized conductors, loose connections or excessive current flow may cause abnormally high unwanted heating that may result in dangerously hot electrical circuits. Components can literally become hot enough to melt. Thermal Imagers enable us to see heat signatures associated with high electrical resistance long before the circuit becomes hot enough to cause an outage or explosion.
