Job Title: Procurement Engineer – Power Transformers (6+ Years’ Experience)

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical) with a minimum of 6 years of experience in sourcing, purchasing, and managing electrical components and systems for transformer industry or its related parts. The ideal candidate will have in-depth technical knowledge of SAP, a strong understanding of procurement processes, and excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate technical and commercial requirements for electrical equipment and materials in coordination with the engineering and service teams.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and subcontractors based on technical capabilities, price, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs), analyze bids, and assist in contract negotiations.
- Manage procurement of items such as Silicon steel, copper parts, Transformer accessories bushings, control panels, cabling, lighting systems, and other electrical components.
- Monitor vendor performance, delivery schedules, and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with logistics, quality assurance, and project management to ensure timely and compliant delivery of materials to the site.
- Assist in cost estimation and budgeting for procurement during the bidding and execution stages.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Stay updated with market trends, new technologies, and changes in the supply chain landscape.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, business administration, or a related field is an additional advantage.
- Proven experience of 5+ years as a Sourcing Engineer or in a similar sourcing role.
- In-depth knowledge of sourcing strategies, supplier management, and procurement processes.
- Proficient in using procurement software and tools.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards.
